Bargi Police have arrested a 19-year-old youth and detained three juveniles for robbing a man at knifepoint and snatching his iPhone, cash and car keys. Police have recovered the stolen mobile phone, motorcycle used in the crime and the knife used during the robbery. The accused have been identified as Krish alias Babu Suman (19), a resident of Bilhari in Gorabazar along with three juveniles aged 16 and 17 years. According to Bargi police, complainant Sarvam Namdev (26), a resident of Bhalla Colony, Narmada Nagar, Gwarighat, lodged a complaint on May 30, that he was returning home with a female friend in his car after travelling from Tilwara. Around 4:30 pm, he stopped near Mangeli village on Mandla Bypass. At that time, two youths arrived on a motorcycle and engaged him in conversation. Soon, two more youths joined them. One of the accused waved a knife and demanded money. When Sarvam refused, the four snatched his iPhone, Rs 3,000 in cash and his car keys before fleeing towards Mandla.

 

Acting on the complaint, Bargi Police registered a case under Section 309(4) of BNS and started investigation. During the investigation, police examined CCTV footage from the area and collected technical evidence. Investigators identified the motorcycle used in the robbery as bearing registration number MP-20MC-4767. Acting on intelligence inputs and technical evidence, police apprehended Krish alias Babu Suman and three juvenile accomplices. During questioning, all four confessed to committing the robbery and stated that the stolen cash had already been spent. Based on their disclosures, police recovered the stolen iPhone, the victim’s car key, the knife used in the crime and the motorcycle used during the robbery. Police said that Krish alias Babu Suman has a criminal history and is already facing three cases, including charges related to attempt to murder, violations of the Arms Act and assault. The robbery case was solved with active working of police team led by SHO, Bargi, Nilesh Dohare along with SI, Anil Kumar and members of the police team.
