The roads of Jabalpur witnessed a massive wave of youth protest on Monday as the Madhya Pradesh Student Union (MPSU) organised an ‘Aastha Bachao - Arthi Julus’. Hundreds
of students and devotees of
Lord Ram gathered to demand complete transparency and financial accountability in the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
The demonstration, which commenced at Kamaniya Gate and culminated at Malviya Chowk, shook the city with powerful slogans, saffron flags and placards reading, ‘Ram ke naam par khel band karo’.
The rally was led by MPSU District Vice-President Akash Khare, alongside Union President Abhishek Pandey.
Khare delivered a fierce warning to the authorities, making it clear that the youth will not back down. The sacrifice of 3,000 Karsevaks will not go in vain. The Ram Mandir is the centre of faith for billions of Hindus. The country demands an accountability of every single penny collected in donations and every single inch of land bought. This movement will not stop until a thorough investigation is conducted.
MPSU President Abhishek Pandey echoed similar sentiments, emphasising that the fight is against systemic flaws rather than individuals. The youth are out on the streets because our faith has been hurt. The Trust will have to answer to the public.
The MP Students Union has formally put forward a three-point demands including a complete financial investigation of the Ram Mandir Trust overseen by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) or a Supreme Court-monitored committee, all documents related to recent land purchases and sales must be made public immediately and complete restructuring of the Trust if any irregularities or guilty parties are identified.
Despite the high emotional charge and massive turnout, the protest concluded peacefully. The leaders of the MP Student Union extended their gratitude to the local administration and police forces for maintaining law and order during the rally.
Prominent student leaders and activists present included Jatin Kanaujia, Krishna Tiwari, Nihal Yadav, Aditya Bhardwaj and others, alongside hundreds of passionate volunteers.
