ATHLETES should start their sports career with dream of playing in the Olympics, advised Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University ViceChancellor Dr Manali Kshirsagar. Dr Kshirsagar was addressing the gathering during opening ceremony of athletics events of the eighth edition of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav at university’s sports complex in Ravinagar on Wednesday evening. Former Olympian Pramila Ayyappa was present on the occasion. KRIPI-NEHAL CLINCHES BADMINTON CROWN THE pair of Kripi Sajwan and Nehal Gosavi beat Arya Anchalwar and Janvi Kaishalwar 15-9, 15- 10 to bag women’s doubles badminton title. In the 55-plus years men’s doubles final, Dr Arvind Joshi and Gurdeep Singh Arora defeated Abhay Panhekar and Rajesh Nitnaware 15-11, 15-10 to emerge champs. CHAUDHARY IS KKM BENCH PRESS CHAMP SHUBHAM Chaudhary was crowned as champion in Khasdar Krida Mahotsav’s Bench Press Championship.
 
Participating in the Masters (men’s) category, Chaudhary delivered an outstanding performance to secure the first position. Nikhil Chawane claimed second place, while Navneet Khatri took the third spot. QUARTER-FINALISTS SPOTTED IN B’BALL BOYS teams of Phoenix, PBG, SNG, GKM, NASA ‘A’, SKM while SKS ‘A’ and NBYS girls confirmed their spots in the quarter-final of the BasketballTournament. CHESS, SOFTBALL, HANDBALL FROM 4-6 CHESS tournament willbe organised at SouthAirport Metro Station. Atotal of 9 rounds will beplayed in the tournament. Nagpur city-levelsoftball tournament willbe held from June 4 to 6at Dhanwate NationalCollege, Congress Nagar. Teamsof boys and girls under the ageof 14, 17 and 23 will participatein this competition. City-levelhandball tournament will beconducted at the SportsComplex, Mankapur. Shuttlers Gurdeep Singh (L) and Dr Arvind Joshi won 55-plus men’s doubles title.
