INDIA’S professional audio-visual market is estimated to reach USD 150 million by 2034, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.9 per cent, while the broader live events industry is expected to surpass Rs 15,000 crore in the coming years, according to industry estimates.
“India’s professional audio, AV integration, and entertainment lighting industry is entering a high-growth phase, driven by the convergence of digital infrastructure expansion, experiential consumption, smart venues, and large-scale public and private investments in entertainment, retail, hospitality, education, and live events,” said Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India.
A clear testament to this energy is the entertainment lighting sector, already a massive USD 12.5 billion industry, which is projected to scale to USD 18 billion by 2031 at an impressive CAGR of nearly 9 per cent, he said.
Xtreme Media Managing Director Sanket Rambhia said the domestic LED market is
scaling up to challenge global supply chains.
With a legacy spanning more than two decades in India's LED display industry, the sector has emerged as a rapidly growing segment within the live events and visual technology ecosystem, driven by the rise of concerts, corporate events, weddings, political rallies, and large-scale entertainment experiences, he said.
India’s LED display market is currently valued at nearly Rs 2,000 crore and is growing at approximately 15 per cent, with the rental LED segment contributing nearly 30 per cent of the market and accounting for around Rs 600-650 crore. While India currently contributes only 4.5 per cent of the global market, the industry is witnessing strong momentum and
substantial long-term growth potential.
“Beyond traditional concerts, the high-end destination wedding market has transformed into a core economic driver for premium AV infrastructure,” said Siddhartha Chauhan, Founder and Managing Director, Mega Sound India.
“Post-COVID, we have witnessed a monumental shift in the scale, technical requirements, and execution of live events. Driven by rapid infrastructural growth, including expanding international airports and world-class hotel chains, what used to be simple entertainment has transformed into multi-day, multi-artist mini-festivals,” he mentioned.
“We are at the absolute baseline of an unprecedented entertainment and AV explosion. To put the localised scale into perspective, the wedding market in Rajasthan alone is now valued at over Rs 1,000 crore,” he added.
