A recklessly driven car struck a motorcycle and a pedestrian inside Hamidia Hospital campus under Koh-e-Fiza police station limits on Sunday, leaving three people injured. The shocking incident within the hospital premises triggered massive outrage among patients’ relatives and bystanders, who then vandalised and overturned the vehicle. According to eyewitness, the car was moving at a dangerously speed within the hospital grounds when it rammed into a motorcycle and a woman on foot.
The impact threw the motorcycle rider onto the pavement, causing serious physical trauma. Hospital staff and onlookers rushed the injured to the emergency department of Hamidia Hospital.
Two of the injured have been identified as Geeta Sen, 44, and Javed, 25, both of whom are currently reported to be in serious condition.
Accusing the driver of negligence, a massive crowd gathered at the accident site to vent their anger. As tension escalated over allegations that a doctor was driving the car, the crowd turned violent. Onlookers damaged the car before collectively flipping it onto
its roof, causing a temporary law-and-order situation inside the medical campus. Koh-e-Fiza Station House Officer KG Shukla arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the alert and brought the situation under control.
Officers seized the damaged vehicle and cleared the crowd. Shukla confirmed that three individuals were injured in the incident, and police are currently recording their statements to initiate formal legal proceedings while actively searching for the driver who fled the spot after the crash.
