Staff Reporter :
NCC Directorate Maharashtra has launched a major youth skilling and employability initiative under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS), aimed at connecting NCC Cadets and Ex-Cadets with industry opportunities, future-ready skills and meaningful career pathways.
As part of the first phase of this initiative, dedicated placement camps are being organised in partnership with Lemon Tree Hotels, providing internship opportunities for eligible graduates from across Maharashtra.
The Phase-I Placement Camp will be held at Lemon Tree Premier, City Centre, Pune on June 15. There are 50 opportunities.
The Mumbai Camp will be held at Lemon Tree Premier, Mumbai on June 16. There will be 100 opportunities.
Together, these camps will provide 150 internship opportunities for eligible graduates, including NCC Senior Division and Senior Wing Cadets as well as Ex-Cadets.
The internships will provide structured workplace exposure in Human Resources, Sales, Front Office Operations, Finance, Food & Beverage Services and Purchase & Stores, enabling participants to acquire industry-relevant skills while gaining practical professional experience.
Selected candidates will receive monthly stipends under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme together with structured mentoring, workplace learning and career development opportunities during the internship period. Recognising the importance of women’s participation, facilitation measures including accommodation support and additional sustenance assistance for eligible girl cadets are being pursued in coordination with the Government of Maharashtra, subject to applicable approvals and guidelines.
Beyond internships, NCC Maharashtra is actively pursuing initiatives to equip cadets with future-ready skills through structured training programmes in Drone Pilot Training and Certification, Cyber Defender and Cyber Security Programmes, Disaster Management and Emergency Response and Civil Defence and Community Resilience.
The Directorate is also engaging with additional corporate partners across sectors including technology, manufacturing, logistics, financial services, hospitality and emerging industries to create a sustained pipeline of internship and employment opportunities for youth.
Eligible NCC Cadets and Ex-Cadets have been advised to contact their nearest NCC Unit for registration and participation in the placement camps.
“NCC has always been a platform for developing disciplined, responsible and capable young citizens. The Pune and Mumbai placement camps represent the beginning of a larger journey towards creating meaningful pathways from education to employment.” - Additional Director General, NCC Maharashtra, Major General Vivek Tyagi.
