Rotary International District 3030 holds outbound students orientation programme

ROTARY International District 3030 successfully organised a comprehensive orientation programme for its selected Outbound Rotary Youth Exchange students at Hotel Tuli International, on June 7. The day-long programme was attended by the selected students along with their parents, preparing them for their upcoming international exchange journey. This year 10 (eight long term and two short term) students from District 3030 have been selected to represent Dist.3030, India and participate in the prestigious Rotary Youth Exchange Programme in countries including the USA, Germany, France, Brazil, and Mexico. The students will spend approximately 10 months, equivalent to a full academic year, living with host families, attending local schools, and experiencing the culture and traditions of their host countries. The orientation programme featured a series of informative and interactive sessions conducted by eminent Rotarians and distinguished professionals.
 
The speakers guided the students on various important aspects of international exchange, including cultural adaptation, personal safety, leadership development, communication skills, Rotary values, and their responsibilities as Youth Ambassadors of India. Dignitaries present on the occasion included (DGN)26-27 Rtn. Rajesh Patil as chief guest, DGN 27-28 Rtn. Kishore Rathi, Past District Governor (PDG) Rtn. Rajinder Khurana, District RYE Chairman Rtn. Mamta Jaiswal, RYE Co-Chair Rtn.Tarun Patel, RYE Co-Chair Rtn. Pooja Khatri, Dr Manmohan Daga, Rtn. Jayshree Chabbrani and Payal Kataria. Several other senior Rotarians shared their valuable insights and experiences with the participants. The Rotary Youth Exchange Programme is one of Rotary International’s flagship youth development initiatives for students aged 15 to 18 years.
 
There are two programmes long term for full academic year and short term for four to six weeks. It provides young people with an opportunity to experience a different culture, learn a new language, develop lifelong friendships, and serve as cultural ambassadors of goodwill. The key objectives of the Rotary Youth Exchange Programme includes to promote international understanding, goodwill, and world peace through cultural exchange. To broaden the outlook of young people by enabling them to live and learn in different cultural environments. To develop leadership qualities, self-confidence, adaptability, and communication skills. To foster global citizenship and lifelong international friendships. The orientation concluded with an interactive session where students and parents addressed their queries and received guidance regarding the exchange process. The programme reinforced Rotary’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and building bridges of friendship across nations.
