RAIPUR :
THE district administration said that families displaced during the removal of
encroachments from government land in
Sammanpur (Nakti) have been shifted to
housing units in Sector-30, Naya Raipur.
According to officials, the remaining
affected cases involved only boundary
walls, and those families already owned
houses in the village, making them ineligible for rehabilitation housing under
existing norms.
Raipur West MLA Anuj Sharma said that
no injustice would be done to genuinely
needy persons during the drive against
illegal encroachments on government
land. He stated that the government was
fully committed to ensuring proper
rehabilitation of displaced families and had already held
discussions with the village sarpanch and local residents
on the issue.
Sharma appealed to people not to pay attention to rumours and alleged that some individuals were
attempting to disturb the atmosphere in the village. He said
the government had always stood with the villagers and
would continue to do so.
Officials said the rehabilitated families have been provided housing, electricity, drinking water and other essential facilities. Arrangements have also been made for dinner on Sunday night as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner on Monday. The administration added that food, drinking water, healthcare services, transportation and other
necessary support are being provided continuously at the
rehabilitation site to ensure that displaced families do not
face inconvenience.
