Staff Reporter :
THE Ratibad police have registered a formal criminal case
against son of retired Special
Director General (Police
Reforms) and cricketer
Shashank Singh, and their family driver following allegations
of physical assault on a newlyhired domestic worker. The
complaint was lodged by 31-
year-old Vipendra Singh Tomar,
a resident of Rewa district, who
had travelled to Bhopal to work
as a family cook. According to
local authorities, the incident allegedly took place
at the former police officer’s private residence
located along Mendori
Road in the Ratibad area.
In his statement to the
police, complainant
Vipendra Singh Tomar
alleged that he was hired
on June 25 for a monthly salary
of Rs 15,000, which included
food and accommodation.
Tomar claimed that almost
immediately after his arrival, the
family members began showing
extreme dissatisfaction with his
performance and confiscated
his mobile phone. He further
alleged that when he demanded his phone back, Shailesh
Singh, Shashank Singh, and their
driver cornered him in his room,
subjected him to severe verbal
abuse, and repeatedly kicked
and punched him. The
complainant also
asserted that the suspects forced him to
electronically transfer
Rs 1,000 to cover food
expenses before physically throwing him
out of the house.
Cricketer Shashank
Singh refutes assault and host
age allegations
Responding to the allegations,
Punjab Kings cricketer Shashank
Singh strongly denied any
wrongdoing, stating that no
physical altercation or hostage
situation took place. The athlete
clarified that Tomar arrived at
their house claiming to be an
expert cook capable of preparing multiple cuisine but subsequently admitted he did not
know how to cook.
Shashank Singh questioned
the validity of the hostage
claims, pointing out that Tomar
stayed at the residence freely
for three days before leaving
voluntarily on his own accord.
Shashank Singh further disclosed that the family grew
highly suspicious after discovering Tomar wandering into
private bedrooms and recording videos of the residence’s
interior, where expensive items
were stored.
According to the cricketer,
Tomar had already shared
some of these unauthorised
private videos with external
contacts. The cricketer
explained that upon realising
this security breach, his mother had Tomar delete the private media from his phone.
Shashank Singh also revealed
that Tomar demanded an
advance payment of Rs 20,000
immediately upon arrival, a
request the family declined
until he could demonstrate his
cooking skills.
Senior police officials launch
probe into minor injury claims:

Commissioner of Police (Zone1) Rashmi Agrawal Dubey confirmed the registration of the

the complainant has been conducted, and further legal
actions will depend entirely on
the medical findings. Dubey
added that a preliminary
assessment of the situation
indicates that the dispute did
not involve any severe physical injuries, though a comprehensive investigation remains
active
