IN THE boys Under-15 singles, that was entirely dominated by The Suburban Table Tennis Association (TSTTA), Mumbai, top seed Param Bhiwandkar lived up to his billing by winning title in the 1st Maharashtra State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament that concluded at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s Subhedar Hall, on Tuesday.
Param, third seed Aarav Vora, fifth seed Raghav Mahajan and seventh seed Ahan Gosar, all representing TSTTA, made it to the semi-finals.
In the first semis, Param raced to straight games win over Raghav 11-8, 11-6, 11-9 while Ahan was equally impressive while upsetting Aarav 11-8, 11-6, 11-6. In the final, Param took two games lead but Raghav pulled one back to make it 2-1. Param took the fourth close game to emerge champion. The scores read 11-6, 11-9, 4-11, 11-9.
Prizes were distributed by Yatin Tipnis, Secretary General, MSTTA and Senior Joint Secretary TTFI; Adv Ashutosh Potnis, Secretary, MSTTA; Shekhar Tongo, Vice-President, NDTTA, Prakash Jasani, Secretary, Gondia District TTA and Ashwin Ramteke, Secretary, Wardha District TTA. Adv Akhilesh Potnis, Secretary, NDTTA; Rajesh Mopkar and Praful Nandedkar were prominently present.
On the occasion, Tipnis honoured coach Ujwal Wani. Ajay Kamble was appointed as Chairman of Draw Committee while Deepak Kanetkar was named Chairman of Selection Committee.

Girls Under-11: Dhadkkan Tanna (TST) [S9] bt Riddhi Singh (THN) [S2] 11-5, 11-9, 16-14.
