CHAKRASAN race,a
unique sports innovation
in which athletes run in
chakrasan (a yoga pose
akin to awheel) position
using both legs and feet, is
gaining global recognition
through social media, asserts
its founder Nagpur’s very own
Gajanan Ladi.
Chakrasan race is the first
official discipline underthe
broader concept of Chakrasan
Sports,inwhich athletes compete while maintaining the
chakrasan.Thesportcombines
strength, flexibility,balance,
speed, co-ordination and
endurance,makingitaunique
and challenging competitive
discipline.
“The recent chakrasan race
demonstration presented in
Nagpur received an overwhelming response,moreso,
on social media. The official
demonstration video crossed
3.3 million views,attracting
national and international
attention and introducing the
sport to audiences across several countries.Ican
proudly say that
chakrasan race is
gainingglobalrecognition,”declaredLadi,
founder of
chakrasan race and
also Founder &
Director of
Chakrasan World
Sports Foundation
(CWSF), who continues his
mission of promoting
chakrasan sports,aninnovativesports concept developed
in India with the vision of taking it to the global stage.

response,the official training
videos of chakrasan race have
also been receivingexcellent
public appreciation, further
strengthening the growing
popularity of the sport,”Ladi
added while sharing his information about the sportwith
‘The Hitavada’.
According to Ladi, who is
alsoPresidentoftheChakrasan
SportsAssociation,Nagpur,the
long-termvision is to develop
chakrasan sports into astructured sports system with multiple disciplines,while promotinginnovation,youth participation andinternational
sporting excellence.

arebeing conducted under
the supervision of authorised trainers at the official
training centrelocated at
Maratha Seva Sangh Hall,
SurveyNagarnearTrimurti
Nagar.The newly-established CWSF aims to
promote,develop and
expand chakrasan
sports through coaching programmes,competitions,research,official rules and structured sports
development across
district,state,national and international
levels,” said Ladi on
expansionofthe indigenous
sport.
“Wehavealready conducted state and national-level
chakrasan race championships.Workonstrengthening our administrativeset-up
is underway and very soon
applicationwillbemadetothe
concernedsportsauthoritiesas
per the prescribed procedure
for recognition. Ouraim is to
take the sportfromIndia to the
world ... building anew sporting identity,” Ladi signed off.
