In a major breakthrough against property offenses, Omti Police have arrested a notorious vehicle thief and recovered seven stolen two-wheelers from his possession. The arrested youth was identified as 20-year-old Pawan Patel, a resident of Sharda Chowk, Anna Mohalla, under Garha Police Station. The action followed a strict directive from Jabalpur Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay (IPS) to curb incidents of looting, snatching, housebreaking and vehicle thefts in the district. Under the guidance of Additional SP (City) Ayush Jakhar (IPS) and CSP Omti, Sonu Kurmi, a special team led by Omti TI Rajpal Singh Baghel executed the operation. According to police sources, a patrolling team spotted a man standing under suspicious circumstances with a motorcycle near Bridge No. 3. Upon seeing the police, the suspect attempted to flee but was quickly cornered and detained. During interrogation, the suspect confessed that the motorcycle he was riding (MP 20 NH 4389) had been stolen from outside Sihora railway station. Further questioning revealed a string of vehicle thefts executed by the accused over the past few months.
 
He confessed to steal an HF Deluxe (MP 20 MU 5416) from Sihora, a TVS Raider (MP 17 ZB 5279) from Jhilari Ghat, an Access scooter (MP 20 JA 3066) from Baldeobagh, an Activa (MP 20 SL 2094) from Darhai Chowk, Kotwali, a Hero Honda Splendor Plus (MP 20 MN 2228) near Damoh Naka, a Splendor (MP 20 NQ 8345) from Kharighat and a silver Access scooter (MP 20 SR 7513) near the Blue Moon Hotel, respectively. While the accused was using the motorcycle stolen from Sihora for his commute, he had hidden the other six two-wheelers at Pili Kothi ground with the intention of selling them. Acting on his disclosure, the police seized all seven vehicles. The police registered a case under Sections 35(1)(e) of the BNSS and 303(2) of the BNS against the accused, who has a history of six prior criminal offenses including obstructing government work, assault, theft and gambling. He was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody. The team led by TI Rajpal Singh Baghel included SI Shriram Sanodiya, Head Constable Sunil Singh, Mahendra Shukla, Constable, Sandeep, Rajveer, Ankesh and Sunil Patel.
