THE Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday concluded the joint state executive committee meeting of all its organisational cells at the party’s state headquarters, Kushabhau Thackrey Parisar, with senior leaders calling on workers to strengthen the organisation and ensure that the welfare schemes of the Central and Chhattisgarh governments reach every section of society. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated the newly appointed convenors, co-convenors and office-bearers of the party’s various cells and said it was a matter of pride to be associated with what he described as the world’s largest political party. Sai said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership had enhanced India’s global standing and that the country was moving towards becoming a developed nation. He said the BJP enjoys the trust of the people and highlighted the party’s organisational strength in Chhattisgarh, stating that it has around 61 lakh primary members.

The Chief Minister said the party’s objective was to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes implemented by both the Central and state governments reach every eligible citizen, particularly those at the grassroots. Referring to the BJP’s 2023 Assembly election promises under ‘Modi’s Guarantee’, he claimed that most of the commitments had already been fulfilled. BJP state president Kiran Singh Deo said the party functions with the spirit of public service and gives equal opportunities to dedicated workers. He said responsibilities within the organisation change periodically and that any committed worker can rise to leadership positions through dedication and hard work. Dev also said preparations for the 2028 Chhattisgarh Assembly elections had already begun, adding that the BJP traditionally starts planning for the next electoral contest immediately after the conclusion of one election.

He urged party workers to remain disciplined, maintain cordial relations with the public and continue strengthening the organisation at the grassroots. State organisation general secretary Pawan Sai described the BJP as an ideology-driven party founded on the principles of democracy, discipline and organisational values. He said party workers were its greatest strength and provided guidance on expanding the organisation and effectively communicating the work of both the government and the party to the public. The meeting also included discussions on the party’s future organisational programmes and action plan. The programme was conducted by Awadhesh Chandel, who is in charge of the BJP’s organisational cells, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Chunnilal Sahu, co-in-charge of the cells. Among those present were state general secretaries Yashwant Jain, Akhilesh Soni and Dr Naveen Markandey, state treasurer Ram Garg, along with a large number of party office-bearers and workers from across Chhattisgarh.
