Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav declared that the Madhya Pradesh Government has constituted a high-level committee to comprehensively examine and address all pending demands of guest faculties. Speaking at the State-Level Atithi Vidwan (Guest Faculty) Sammelan at Ravindra Bhavan on Friday, the Chief Minister assured that the State Government is fully committed to taking all necessary and feasible actions in the interest of guest faculties serving in the Higher Education and Technical Education Departments as soon as the committee submits its recommendations. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr Yadav emphasised that the newly-formed committee is also studying welfare and recruitment models implemented in other states.

This step is being taken to ensure that Madhya Pradesh can adopt the most effective, stable, and worker-friendly system for its educators. He described guest faculties as members of the State Government’s extended family, comparing them to priests in the temples of learning who actively guide and shape the future of the state’s youth. Key decisions enforced to secure educators’ rights: Chief Minister Dr Yadav and Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar detailed welfare measures already introduced to safeguard the academic and social security of guest faculties. The Government has implemented a relief package that includes thirteen casual leaves and three optional holidays annually, alongside dedicated maternity leave for women guest faculties. To make their working conditions more comfortable, educators are also provided the facility to choose colleges close to their home stations.

Furthermore, the State Government has introduced a 21 per cent reservation for guest faculties in the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) Assistant Professor recruitment examinations, paired with a generous relaxation of ten years in the upper age limit. Pointing to the positive outcomes of these policies, the Chief Minister noted that 117 guest faculties were successfully appointed as regular Assistant Professors in government colleges in 2022, followed by another 48 regular appointments in 2024. Additionally, the policy allows educators one transfer opportunity each year and ensures two opportunities every month for re-engagement in case of a fallout. Strengthening academic infrastructure and enrollment:

Chief Minister Dr Yadav announced that Madhya Pradesh’s Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education has officially surpassed the national average, bridging a long-standing historical gap. He also highlighted that the school dropout rate in the state has been reduced to absolute zero. To sustain this academic momentum, the government is continuously expanding its educational infrastructure. Under the leadership of the current administration, one PM Excellence College has been established in every single district of Madhya Pradesh. The state has also set up new government universities in Khargone, Guna, and Sagar to widen the reach of technical and higher studies.

The Chief Minister added that the state is introducing Sandipani Schools to strengthen primary school education while aggressively implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to prioritise innovation, creativity, and ethical values over purely bookish knowledge.
