Armed terrorists brandishing AK-47s suddenly took over the courtroom during High Court proceedings. Before the judges, lawyers and staff present in the courtroom could react, the terrorists took the entire courtroom hostage. Furthermore, the Registrar General, who had come from Indore, was also abducted. The echoes of gunfire and explosions rocked the entire High Court premises. However, the entire incident was part of a high-profile mock drill conducted by security agencies.
Terrorists disguised as lawyers, attacked during a court appearance.
As per the mock drill, during a terrorist's appearance, attackers disguised as lawyers passed through security checks and entered the courtroom. A woman accompanying them also took out an AK-47 and held everyone in the courtroom hostage. Meanwhile, other associates of the terrorist also arrived at the courthouse and abducted the Registrar General of Indore. Within moments, the entire courtroom was under the control of terrorists.
Commando raid, 'terrorist operation' ended. Upon receiving information, a special commando team surrounded the High Court premises and carried out a precise operation, killing two terrorists and capturing two others alive. The hostages were safely evacuated and the entire operation demonstrated preparedness to deal with a terrorist attack-like situation.
The mock drill was inspected by Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rushia, High Court judges, advocates and senior officials.
