VIDARBHA finished their maiden international tour to Namibia on a positive note winning the last one-day by one wicket, on Friday.
Despite the five-match series already lost before the start of the final game, Vidarbha kept their hunt for their second successive win and succeeded, albeit
narrowly.
The Yash Kadam-led side lost first three games but gathered pieces to win the next two games, by an identical margin of one wicket.
Vidarbha opened their international exposure tour with a narrow two-wicket loss and then were thrashed by the hosts by seven wickets.
The situation did not improve as they lost the third match and the series by six wickets.
They then won the next two games to finish the tour with a 2-3 margin.
In all the five matches, Vidarbha chased the target.
Asked to bat first, Namibia team piled up 297-5 in 50 overs.
Michael van Lingen led the charge for Namibia with a splendid 111 while Alexaander Volschenk made 71.
Vidarbha lost four wickets for 74 runs before Vedant Jajoo (47) and skipper Yash Kadam added 51 runs for the fifth wicket.
Following Jajoo’s dismissal, Yash and Jagjot Sasan (47) took the score to 221 before the former was out for 79.
A mini collapse followed, leaving Vidarbha struggling on 265-9. However, Parth Rekhade struck an unbeaten 51 with three sixes and two boundaries to take Vidarbha home in the company of Saurabh Dubey (6).
