Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has achieved the prestigious 5-Star rating for seven mines, the highest among all coal companies in the country, in the Star Rating Assessment released by the Ministry of Coal for the financial year 2024-25.
This achievement is a testament to WCL’s excellent work culture and unwavering commitment to the highest standards in safe, scientific , environmentally friendly and sustainable
mining.
WCL Nagpur Area Patansaongi underground mine, Chandrapur region Nandgaon Incline Underground Mine, Nagpur Area Savner Mines No. 1 underground mine and Savner Mines No. 2 underground mine,
Umred area Makardhokra - 1 opencast mine and Dinesh / MKD- III opencast mine, and Vani Area Mungoli Opencast Mine were
awarded with 5-Star rating by the Ministry of Coal. In the same evaluation, WCL’s 25 mines have been given a 4- star rating and 15 mines have been given a 3-Star rating.
