Travelers flying from Nagpur will soon have more options as Air India is set to resume its Nagpur-Mumbai service while also introducing a second daily flight on the Nagpur-Delhi route from August 1. This is expected to improve air connectivity from the city and offer greater flexibility to both business and
leisure passengers.
The airline had suspended its Nagpur-Mumbai morning and late night flights operations on June 1 this year. According to the Airport officials, the decision was taken due to a combination of rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices and operational cost restructuring. The suspension had reduced direct travel options from the two cities, forcing passengers to depend on alternate airlines and connecting flights. In addition to Mumbai, Air India is also strengthening connectivity with the national capital by introducing a second daily Delhi service in phases.
Delhi- Nagpur- Delhi daily flight, arriving in Nagpur at 2.25 pm and departing at 3 pm. A second daily Delhi- Nagpur- Delhi service
will begin from September 1, arriving in Nagpur at
8.05 am and departing at 8.40 am. Both services will significantly increasing travel options between the two cities.
Nagpur Airport announced the development through its official social media platforms, stating that the return of Air India’s Mumbai service and the addition of another daily Delhi flight would improve connectivity and make travel more convenient for passengers.
At present, Nagpur Airport operates 31 scheduled departures every day. The airport is served by five airlines, including three domestic and two international carriers which are providing direct connectivity to 13 Indian cities and two international destinations - Sharjah and Doha.
