DAYTIME temperatures are on the rise across parts of Madhya Pradesh as widespread monsoon activity hits a temporary lull, leaving the State split between humid heat and localised showers. According to Meteorological Centre, Bhopal on Sunday, rainfall was restricted to isolated places in just the Rewa and Shahdol divisions, while the rest of the State remained completely dry. With dry weather dominating most regions, temperatures are creeping upward. While maximum temperatures remained steady across most divisions, they jumped to 1.90C above normal in the districts of the Narmadapuram division. Meanwhile, night temperatures also saw a significant spike in the Shahdol division, where minimums were recorded at an appreciable 3.30C above normal. Khajuraho (Chhatarpur) registered the State’s highest maximum temperature at 36.20C, closely followed by Gwalior at 35.70C and Sheopur at 35.40C.
Conversely, Khargone recorded the State’s lowest minimum at 190 C, alongside the lowest daytime maximum of 28.60C. Dry spell spreads all over the State THE IMD indicates that two active systems - a Monsoon trough stretching from Sri Ganganagar to south Assam and a Western Disturbance persisting as a trough - will continue to trigger highly localised weather. State will see a clear regional split on July 13. The northern, central, and western regions - including Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, and Ujjain - are forecast to remain entirely dry. Conversely, a broad belt across the southern and eastern parts of the state, including districts like Khargone, Betul, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Rewa, and Shahdol, will experience rainfall at isolated places. A yellow warning has been issued for these southern and eastern districts. Residents in areas such as Dhar, Burhanpur, Seoni, Mandla, Sidhi, and Satna should brace for sudden thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 km/h. Meanwhile, the rest of the state, including the northern and central blocks, carries no weather warnings for Monday.
