VCA State Panel Umpires’ Workshop was inaugurated at the VCA Civil Lines on Monday. The workshop will be followed by practical and written examinations to be conducted by BCCI umpire Vineet Kulkarni. Kulkarni, who has been appointed as the umpires’ educator for the workshop and examination, will be assisted by VCA’s senior umpire Abhijit Deshmukh. VCA Secretary, Sanjay Badkas and Joint-Secretary Gautam Kale presided over the inaugural function held at the Bilimoria Hall.

 

Chairman of the Umpires’ Committee Chandrakant Manke and committee member Mangesh Khedkar were present on the occasion along with VCA’s BCCI empanelled umpires. In all, 50 umpires are attending the preparatory classes which will conclude on July 16. Practical exams will be held on July 18 and 19, followed by a written examination on July 21.
