Rainfall activity is expected to increase across Chhattisgarh in the coming days under the influence of a low-pressure area formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coast, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Raipur.
The weather system is likely to intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area during the next two days and move northwestwards across north Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. An upper air cyclonic circulation is also present over east Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar at an altitude of 0.9 km above mean sea level. The IMD reported that light to moderate rainfall occurred at several places in State during the past 24 hours. Rajnandgaon recorded the highest maximum temperature at 35.5 degrees Celsius, while Bilaspur registered the lowest minimum temperature at 24.2 degrees Celsius.
