A major change in air travel arrangements is set to take place at the Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal from August 1. Air India Express, the budget airline of the Air India group, will commence its regular flight operations from the city. Under this new transition, the responsibility for almost all Air India flights operating from Bhopal will now be handled by Air India Express. This strategic move is expected to significantly strengthen the domestic aerial connectivity of the state capital. Morning Delhi flight remains unchanged: According to the newly approved flight schedule for the airport, the morning Delhi-Bhopal-Delhi flight, designated as AI1705 and AI1886, will experience no alterations. Keeping passenger convenience in mind, the operation of this premium morning service will continue to be managed by the parent company, Air India. Apart from this specific schedule, the operational responsibility for all other Air India flights departing from Bhopal to various destinations will be completely handed over to Air India Express.

Under the new operational framework, Air India Express will operate six daily flights from the city. These flights will directly connect Bhopal to the national capital, Delhi, and the financial capital, Mumbai. The airline will utilise the modern and comfortable Airbus A320neo aircraft for these specific routes. This comprehensive schedule will provide passengers travelling from Bhopal with better and more flexible timing options throughout the entire day. Budget-friendly fares for passengers: Airport management authorities stated that the entry of Air India Express will provide a new momentum to the aviation sector in Bhopal. Since Air India Express operates as a low-cost carrier, passengers are expected to benefit significantly on the fare front. The availability of more competitive and economical tickets compared to private airlines will offer regular commuters a highly budget-friendly air travel experience. The ticket booking process for these new flights has already commenced across all official airline platforms.
