Shruti Joshi, a fencer from Nagpur, has been selected in the Indian team which will take part in the World Fencing Championships. The championship is scheduled to be held in Hong Kong from July 22 to 30, 2026. This achievement is the result of Shruti’s hard work, discipline, and consistent performance. Shruti has demonstrated her talent by performing brilliantly in various senior national-level competitions. Her selection has brought honour to Nagpur and Maharashtra at the national and international levels.

 

She is currently training under Sagar Lagoo at the Kerala SAI Centre. Shruti attributes her selection to her parents, coaches Sagar Lagoo and Ankit Gajbhiye and her team-mates Akash Thakare, Nandkunal Dhanvijay, Damini Rambhad, Rahul Mandavkar, Sagar Bhagat, Aavish Somkunwar, Yash Sontakke, and others. Maharashtra Fencing Association Secretary Uday Dongre and Nagpur District Fencing Association President Ajay Sontakke, Secretary Mohammed Shoaib and Treasurer Suresh Hazare congratulated Shruti and wished her luck.
