Honouring the memories of late Ishwardas Rohani, former Speaker of MP Legislative Assembly, a grand ceremony ‘Gaurav Shikhar Samman Samaroh’ was organised at Manas Bhawan on Wednesday. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav attended the high-profile event as the chief guest. The ceremony saw a distinguished gathering, including Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Rakesh Singh, retired Justice HP Singh, MLA Ashok Rohani alongside various public representatives, administrative and judicial officials, leaders of social organizations and a large turnout of local residents. Chief Minister Dr Yadav fondly recalled late Ishwardas Rohani’s extensive public life, his monumental parliamentary contributions, and his unwavering dedication to democratic values during his tenure as the Assembly Speaker. Remembering him as a simple, gentle, and deeply service-oriented leader, other dignitaries stated that his high ideals continue to serve as an inspiration for the younger generation. The ceremony concluded with the guests paying floral tributes to the portrait of the late leader, remembering his lifelong dedication to the development of the region. As a core part of the event celebrating exceptional contributions to society, culture, and governance, the prestigious Gaurav Shikhar Samman awards were conferred upon twelve eminent personalities who have continuously strived to bring positive change and maintain the highest standards of professional and community service.

 

The ceremony recognised veterans and trailblasers across twelve distinct categories encompassing the pillars of public life. Justice (Retd) Devavrat Madhav Dharmadhikari, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, received Nyaya Ratna Gaurav Shikhar Samman for his lifelong exemplary service and outstanding contributions to the field of justice. Similarly, Vidhi Ratna Gaurav Shikhar Samman has been awarded to R N Singh, former Advocate General, Gnyan Jyoti Gaurav Shikhar Samman to Rekha Chudasama from All India Convener for Girls’ Education (Vidya Bharati), Nari Shakti Gaurav Shikhar Samman to Gyaneshwari Didi, Karmayogi Gaurav Shikhar Samman to Dr Kailash Gupta, Sanjeevani Gaurav Shikhar Samman to Neurosurgeon Professor Dr Y R Yadav, Veerta Gaurav Shikhar Samman to Hav (Hony Nb Sub) R N Tiwari, Sanatan Gnyan Gaurav Shikhar Samman to Jyotish Acharya Pandit Rohit Dubey, Sanskar Gaurav Shikhar Samman to Nandlal Negandhi, Yuva Gaurav Shikhar Samman to Sarabjeet Singh, Kalam Veer Gaurav Shikhar Samman to senior journalist Shyam Katare and Udyog Gaurav Shikhar Samman to Nitin Chandok.
