IN ADDITION to the landmark ‘Madhya Pradesh Uniform Civil Code, 2026’ Bill, the Cabinet meeting chaired by Dr Mohan Yadav held at historic Jagdishpur on Sunday, approved draft of several bills including Labour, Ease of doing business, Fire Services, health care and Private Universities. The decisions were taken on labour reforms through the MP Labour Code, 2026, which consolidates six older labour laws into a unified code aligned with central legislation. It allows 24/7 operations for theatres and restaurants under a three-shift system. Mandatory inspector verifications for new establishments have been eliminated to improve the ease of doing business. Health and hospital policies outsourcing pilot project IN A major push to tackle doctor shortages, the Cabinet approved a pilot project under which the operations and staffing of 18 Community Health Centres in Rewa, Dewas, and Guna districts are being handed over to private organisations. Direct recruitment:The State approved the direct recruitment of specialist doctors for Community Health Centres, with a condition ensuring they cannot be transferred for three years. The ‘Ease of Doing Business Act, 2026’ has also been strengthened with the creation of a dedicated EoDB Secretariat under the MP Industrial Development Corporation. This single-window system will streamline approvals for new industries, with investors receiving a ‘Letter of Establishment’ based on selfdeclaration. Notably, the Pollution Control Board certificate requirement at the initial stage has been waived, cutting months of procedural delays.

 

Council of Ministers gave their nod to Madhya Pradesh Private Universities (Establishment and Operation) Amendment Bill, 2026 (regarding exemptions from provisions concerning land, built-up area, and the endowment fund for the establishment of private universities). The Council of Ministers approved the ‘Madhya Pradesh Repeal Bill, 2026’. Furthermore, the Law and Legislative Affairs Department was authorised to introduce the Bill in the Legislative Assembly, secure its passage, and undertake all necessary proceedings. The Council of Ministers approved the ‘Madhya Pradesh Highways (Amendment) Bill, 2026’. The Public Works Department was authorised to introduce the Bill in the Legislative Assembly, secure its passage, and undertake all necessary proceedings. Approval of ‘Madhya Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services Bill, 2026’ THE Council of Ministers approved ‘Madhya Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services Bill, 2026’. Additionally, Urban Development and Housing Department was authorised to introduce the Bill in Legislative Assembly, secure its passage, and undertake all necessary proceedings. Approval of MP Dhanvantari Health University Bill, 2026 THE Council of Ministers approved the Madhya Pradesh Dhanvantari Health University Bill, 2026. Additionally, the Public Health and Medical Education Department has been authorised to take further action to present the Bill in the Legislative Assembly and secure its approval. All these bills will be presented in five day assembly session begins from Monday.
