THE School Education Department of Government of Chhattisgarh is organising a grand state-level ‘Shala Praveshotsav’ for the 2026-27 academic session on July 20. This prestigious event will be held on Monday at 12:00 PM on the premises of the Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium School in Jamgaon (M), located in the Patan development block of Durg district. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, will be the chief guest at this state-level event. Deputy Chief Minister and Minister-in-charge of Durg district, Vijay Sharma, will attend as the distinguished guest. The event will be presided over by School Education Minister, Gajendra Yadav. On this occasion, Chief Minister and other dignitaries will extend a warm welcome to the children enrolling in the school for the first time by applying ‘tilak’ on their foreheads and offering them sweets.
 
According to the information received, distinguished guests attending this state-level ceremony will include Vijay Baghel (MP, Durg Lok Sabha constituency), Bhupesh Baghel (former Chief Minister and MLA, Patan), Lalit Chandrakar MLA, Durg Rural, and Doman Lal Korsewada MLA, Ahiwara. Additionally, Rikesh Sen (MLA, Vaishali Nagar), Devendra Yadav (MLA, Bhilai Nagar), Ishwar Sahu (MLA, Saja), Rakesh Pandey (Chairman, Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board), and Jitendra Sahu (Chairman, Telghani Development Board, Chhattisgarh) will participate in the event. To enhance the grandeur of the occasion, office-bearers from local three-tier Panchayati Raj institutions will also be present. The School Education Department has completed all preparations for the event. The primary objective of this festival is to instill enthusiasm for education among children and ensure 100% enrollment.
