Agriculture Secretary visits Parseoni inspects rice mill in Borda

Agriculture Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra, Dr Parimal Singh, visited Parseoni tehsil in Nagpur district on July 20, to closely inspect various ongoing agriculture and food processing projects in the region. At the start of the visit, the Agriculture Secretary visited the rice mill established by the Antarang Shetkari Producer Company in Borda under the ‘SMART’ project. On this occasion, he held detailed discussions with the office-bearers of the Farmer Producer Company regarding the operational functioning, production capacity, and marketing setup of the rice mill, and provided necessary guidance. Following this, he inspected the ‘Shree Krishna Wheat Filter and Dal Mill Unit’ established in Gahu Hivra village under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme.
 
There, he met with the scheme’s beneficiary, Ravindra Raut, and gathered detailed information regarding the unit’s operations, processing technology, and financial returns. Several dignitaries and officials, including Umesh Ghatge, Divisional Joint Director of Agriculture, Nagpur Division; Pragya Godghate, Nodal Officer, SMART Cotton (Nagpur Division); Dattatraya Yele, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer & Deputy Director of Agriculture; Rakesh Vasu, Taluka Agriculture Officer, Parseoni; Prabhakar Shirpurkar, Circle Agriculture Officer, Kanhan; Vivekanand Shinde and Subhash Rathod, Deputy Agriculture Officers; Bhojraj Satpute and Pawan Misar, Assistant Agriculture Officers; Pramod Somkuwar, Assistant Technology Manager (Parseoni); a large number of farmers were also present on the occasion.
