NAGPUR’S international cricketer Harsh Dubey and Vidarbha Under-23 skipper Faiz Shaikh will be honoured with top Bankers’ Sports Council (BSC) awards in a glittering ceremony to be held at Narayani Memorial Hall, MKH Sancheti Public School, Wardha Road, Nagpur, on July 24. “Harsh, who made it to the India squad this season, will be conferred upon with Late VV Naik Trophy for outstanding performance in cricket while Late RS Mundle Memorial Col CK Naidu Trophy was bagged by Faiz Shaikh. The 58th edition of the Inter Bank Sports Prize Distribution Function will be held on Friday,” informed Ravi Joshi, Secretary, BSC during a press conference on Tuesday. “Olympian, Hockey World Cup winner and Arjuna Awardee, son of Indian hockey legend Dhyanchand, Ashok Dhyanchand will grace the prize distribution function as the chief guest,” Joshi added. The Outstanding Sports Organiser Award will be given to Sports Journalist Association of Nagpur (SJAN) while Dainik Bhaskar’s Chayan Mukherjee will get the Jawaharlal Nehru Birth Centenary Award. Sanket Asare of Bank of Maharashtra has been declared as Best Sportsman of Inter Bank Sports Events while Sonali Bhave of Punjab National Bank will take home Late Neelima Pardhi Trophy for being Best Sportswoman.
 
Naushad Ali Memorial Award for outstanding work in the field of music will go to Bhagyashree Tikle. Best Services to Bankers’ Sports Council, Nagpur award was won by Niraj Singh, General Secretary, YMCA, Nagpur. Late GT Parande Memorial Award for Social Services will be given to Arvind Kadbe of Olava Foundation. Sharad Mahajan, Ulhas Gandhe, Rajesh Kamble, Vikram Gandhe, Ajinkya Gandhe, Ishwari Pande, Bharati Fulmali (selection in Indian women’ cricket team for World Cup 2026) and Shrikant Sahastrabuddhe, who donated a generous sum of Rs 25.51 lakhs to Army Central Welfare Fund, New Delhi, will also be honoured on the occasion. BSC conducts many sporting events throughout the year. Top individual performers and top teams in all those tournament will also be honoured at the hands of the chief guest. Dignitaries from the banking fraternity including Shashi Ranjan, Arvind Kumar, Gaurav Kumar, Anand Maheshwari, Arup Patra, Ananth Kumar Gade, Jakkala Surendra Babu, Amol Ujwane and Alpeshkumar Joshi will be prominently present as the guests of honour. BSC Vice-Presidents Sharad Padhye and Prafulla Nandedkar; Treasurer Rajesh Joshi, Joint Secretaries Tribhuwan Meshram, Mangesh Puranik and Sunny Dudani were among those present in the press conference.
