Mpl. Commr. Singh reviews restorationwork of lakes, monsoon preparedness

Ramprakash Ahirwar inspected
the city’s major lakes and
rainwater drainage system to
review restoration work and
monsoon preparedness. He
directed officials to expedite
ongoing works while maintaining quality standards.
The Municipal Commissioner
visited Hanumantal, Adhartal
and Supatal lakes, where restoration and beautification works are
being carried out by the Jabalpur
Municipal Corporation. He
reviewed the progress of the
works and instructed the
concerned departments to complete the same within stipulated time limit.
During inspection, Ahirwar
said the three lakes are important water bodies of the city and
their conservation is essential
for water security and environmental protection. He asked officials to ensure that all restoration works are carried out in a
planned manner.
Later, the Municipal
Commissioner visited several
waterlogging-prone areas to
examine the city’s rainwater
drainage system. Municipal
Commissioner Singh inspected
the flow of rainwater on
major roads, in residential localities and reviewed the functioning of drains.
He instructed officials to
ensure that no part of the city
faces waterlogging during the
monsoon. He also directed the
control room and field staff to
remain on alert round the clock
so that any drainage related
problem is addressed without
delay. Ahirwar said extensive
desilting and cleaning of drains
and conservancy channels had
been carried out over the past
three months. He said these
works have improved rainwater drainage and helped prevent waterlogging complaints
during the ongoing monsoon.
