THEAll India Institute of Medical
Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal, has
signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with the
All India Institute of Local Self
Government (AIILSG), Bhopal, to
strengthen fire safety, disaster
preparedness, and emergency
response systems within its
premises. This key initiative has
been undertaken under the leadership of Professor (Dr)
Madhabananda Kar, Executive
Director, AIIMS Bhopal.
The primary objective of this
partnership is to enhance institutional resilience and promote
a safer healthcare environment
through co-ordinated efforts in
fire safety and emergency management. Under this partnership, both institutions will jointly conduct fire safety training,
emergency preparedness programmes, mock drills, fire safety audits, development of
Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs), capacity building initiatives, and technical consultancy services. These activities will
improve the readiness of health care professionals and reinforce
a strong culture of safety across
the institute.
The MoU was signed on behalf
of AIIMS Bhopal by Sandesh
Kumar Jain, Deputy Director
(Administration), and on behalf
of AIILSG by K R P Sharma,
Regional Director. During the
event, Professor (Dr) Raghvendra
Kumar Vidua, Nodal Officer (Fire
Safety) from AIIMS Bhopal, and
Pradeep Patel, representative
from AIILSG, were specially present. The signing ceremony was
attended by Professor (Dr) Vikas
Gupta, Medical Superintendent;
Professor (Dr) Rajnish Joshi,
Dean (Academics); Professor (Dr)
Rehan-Ul-Haq, Dean (Research);
Additional Professor (Dr) Amber
Kumar, Member Secretary, MoU
Committee; and Professor (Dr)
Sheetal Kotgirwar, Member
Secretary, Safety Committee,
along with other senior officials
of AIIMS Bhopal.
This collaboration is expected
to significantly strengthen AIIMS
Bhopal’s safety framework,
ensuring a safer environment for
patients, healthcare professionals, students, and visitors.
