IIT-HOME organised Gyananjali, its annual cultural and felicitation event recently, at Suresh Bhatt Auditorium. The event was attended by around 1,500 IIT-HOME students, alumni and parents. Gyananjali, an annual tradition of IIT-HOME, showcases the cultural talents of its graduating students while felicitating the outgoing batch and inspiring younger students to pursue excellence with dedication, discipline and creativity. The chief guest for the event was Chandrashekhar Karhadkar, Director, Reactor Group, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR). Addressing the gathering, Karhadkar shared his experiences from India’s premier nuclear research establishment and emphasised the critical role of engineers, scientific temperament and technological innovation in nation-building. Karhadkar also delivered an exclusive 2 hour lecture organised by IIT-HOME for its students at Nagpur.

 

This year’s event also featured two distinguished student guests Shireesh Johari, an IIT-HOME alumnus from the 2001 batch, and Hiren Chawra, an IIT-HOME alumnus from the 1997 batch, the very first batch of IIT-HOME. Both alumni shared their inspiring journeys and reflected on how their years at IIT-HOME helped shape their careers and personalities. Speaking on the occasion, Nisha Kothari said that the entire event was conceptualised, planned and executed by the students and alumni of IIT-HOME without any professional event management support. “IIT-HOME organises and sponsors Gyananjali every year with the objective of providing students a unique platform to discover and develop their talents beyond academics, thereby contributing to their holistic development,” she added. The success of this vision is reflected in the enthusiastic participation of IIT-HOME’s alumni, many of whom are accomplished professionals across diverse fields and continue to return every year to voluntarily contribute their time, expertise and efforts towards making the event a grand success, without expecting any monetary compensation.
