The Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) Nuisance Detection Squad took stringent action against across the city and fined those who litter, throw garbage, spit, and use plastic bags less than 79 microns in public places. On Wednesday, the Nuisance Detection Squad registered 49 cases and collected a fine of Rs 47,200. About 18 cases were registered against handcarts, stalls, hawkers and small vegetable vendors for spreading uncleanliness and collected fine of Rs 7,200. Meanwhile, 8 cases under registered against persons who dumped garbage on the road, footpath or open space and collected fine of Rs Rs 800. Also, four cases were registered against shopkeepers and collected fine of Rs 1,600 who threw garbage on the road, footpath or open spaces.

 

Similarly, the squad registered 1 case and collected fine of Rs 2,000 against educational institution for throwing garbage on road, footpath, open space. The special squad also registered 3 cases against malls, restaurants, lodgings, boarding hotels, cinema halls etc., and collected fines of Rs 6,000 for dumping garbage on roads, footpaths, and open spaces. A fine of Rs 2,000 was registered under 1 case for dumping, storing construction debris, garbage on public road, footpath, open space. In another case, the squad registered 4 cases for de-salting chamber in the hotel, littering on the road after chowk and non-payment of garbage charges and collected a fine of Rs 20,000.
