UNDER Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is accelerating its push into technology-driven governance. Secretary of Electronics & Information Technology Department Ankit Anand told the reporters at the Samvad auditorium that digital tools are being used not only to modernise administration but to deliver ‘transparent, simple and timebound services’ to every resident. “The State government is committed to establishing Chhattisgarh among the leading digital States of the country by leveraging Artificial Intelligence, digital connectivity and modern technologies,” he said. Seva Setu, billed as the State’s largest integrated citizen services portal, received an upgraded launch from the Chief Minister on April 29, 2026. The portal now offers 564 services from 35 departments. According to the department, more than 85 lakh applications were filed through Seva Setu in the past two-and-a-half years and over 78 lakh have been resolved. The government said it is fast-tracking mobile connectivity to remote, forest and tribal areas under the centrally funded Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) programme. Since January 2024, 1,273 mobile towers have been commissioned under schemes including Aspirational Districts, LWE PhaseII and 4G saturation drives. Rural broadband is slated to expand under BharatNet Phase III, for which the Union government has approved 3,928 crore. The project aims to bring highspeed internet, digital services and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connectivity to Gram Panchayats and other rural locations. To build a local digital workforce, the State has launched the CM IT Fellowship in partnership with IIIT Naya Raipur.

 

The fellowship will train 50 Chhattisgarh domiciles (selected as per reservation norms) with advanced technical skills and handson experience inside government departments, the administration said. Mineral Online 2.0 generated revenue of 30,311.80 crore between January 2024 and June 2026, Anand said, underscoring the department’s push to digitise governance. Key platforms include the Integrated Waste Monitoring & Management System (IWMMS) for online tracking of industrial waste movement and disposal; One Click Single Window System 2.0, which integrates 151 services across 19 departments for unified, timebound investor approvals; the PARAS Portal for monitoring major infrastructure projects; and the Bastar Munne Portal to ensure delivery of scheme benefits in the formerly Naxalaffected Bastar division and three other districts. Digital Dwaar provides a secure, standardised mechanism for interdepartmental data exchange. Ankit Anand said Artificial Intelligence is now a departmental priority under the Chhattisgarh AI Mission (CGAIM), which will promote AI skills, research and innovation and establish AI Centres of Excellence and AI Data Labs. Proposed Centres of Entrepreneurship will target AI, MedTech (forest/medicinal products), Smart City solutions and Smart Agriculture. A Cloud First Policy will strengthen secure cloud services and data protection. The department said several of its initiatives including Aadhaar services, the GIS project, Atal Monitoring Portal, ePragati portal, IWMMS, One Click Single Window System 2.0 and the Court Case Monitoring System have received national and state awards.
