RISING badminton talents lit up the courts with impressive performances in the quarter-finals of the ongoing the Yonex-Sunrise GH Raisoni Memorial Nagpur District Selection Badminton Tournament at Subhedar Badminton Hall, RTMNU Sports Complex on Friday. In men’s single quarters, Rohan Singh kicked off the proceedings with a commanding straight-sets victory over Sarvesh Kukde 15-9, 15-10. Sanidhya Khandare got the better of Jeeva Pillai 15-9, 10-15, 15-10. Ojas Gedam delivered one of the most dominant shows of the day, cruising past Mourya Khandelwal 15-6, 15-4.

 

Priyanshu Dubey edged out Devesh Jena 17-15 10-15 15-11. In men’s doubles quarter-finals, Aaryan Sadhankar and Gaurav Rege cruised past Akshat Paturkar and Anup Kadwe 15-5, 15-7. Arnav Nimbalkar and Sairaj Nayse overcame Gaurav Mithe and Nabeel Ahmed in a hard-fought match 17-15, 16-18, 15-9. Jeeva Pillai and Shantanu Sapkal defeated Ashish Rajput and Sanidhya Khandare 15-12, 15-10, while Akshad Vitonde and Rohan Singh rallied to beat Ayush Sadawarti and Dipanshu Shukla 9-15, 15-9, 15-9. All the semi-finals will be played on Saturday.
