SAIRAJ Nayse bagged triple titles while Ojas Gedam emerged as men’s singles champion in the Yonex-Sunrise GH Raisoni Memorial Nagpur District Selection Badminton Tournament that concluded at Subhedar Badminton Hall, RTMNU Sports Complex, on Sunday. Sairaj pocketed the boys Under-19 and U-17 singles titles and also picked men’s doubles crown to complete asuper day. In the boys U-19 final, Sairaj defeated Mourya Khandelwal 15- 12, 15-12 for acomfortable win. Sairaj stunned topseed Devansh Thaokar 15-11, 15-10 also in straight games to take the U-17 boys trophy. In themen’s doubles summit clash, the pair of Sairaj and Arnav Nimbalkar made shortwork of Akshad Vitonde and Rohan Singh 15-11, 15-11. Singh found himself on the receiving end in men’singles final.Gedamgot thebetterof him in straight games 15-9, 15-10. Prize Distribution was done at the hands of Dr Inderjeet Singh Randhawa (Sports Officer, Raisoni Education). Madhavi Kashikar Hedaoo (Secretary, Coaching, NDBA) and Yatharth Meshram (Tournament Referee) were prominently present.
