TT NAGAR police dismantled a newly-expanded network of the notorious Kala Irani gang, which had transitioned from mobile snatching to stealing premium sports motorcycles across various city jurisdictions. Law enforcement officers arrested two key gang operatives, identified as Abbas Ali alias Pappu and Syed Zeeshan Khan, recovering four stolen two-wheelers valued at Rs 6 lakh. The confiscated vehicles included high-end motorcycles such as a Royal Enfield and a Yamaha R-15, which the syndicate systematically targeted in affluent urban neighbourhoods. Ti Gaurav Singh Dohare stated that investigations revealed the arrested suspects were previously involved in mobile snatching syndicates and maintained direct ties with notorious criminal Kala Irani and absconding offender Sabdar Ali. The gang developed an organised vehicle theft network, using stolen twowheelers to conduct preliminary surveillance across targeted localities before transporting the vehicles by road to sell in other states, including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to using master keys to breach motorcycle locking mechanisms within minutes before removing registration plates to evade tracking. The arrested individuals admitted executing vehicle thefts across TT Nagar, Kohefiza, Piplani, and Aishbagh police station limits. Interrogations further indicated that the syndicate maintained extensive interstate networks to dispose of stolen property beyond state borders. The operational breakthrough occurred during inquiries into a Yamaha R-15 stolen from the TT Nagar area on July 15. Following instructions from station in-charge Gaurav Singh Dohare, dedicated police teams gathered technical intelligence until receiving a tip-off on July 25 regarding two individuals attempting to sell a motorcycle without number plates near Ladli Laxmi Park. Police personnel cordoned off the location, detained both suspects, and extracted confessions regarding multiple vehicle thefts. Authorities confirmed that search operations remain ongoing to locate absconding gang members identified as Adil Ali, Irshad and Sabdar Ali.
