A FIRE broke out in the emergency ward of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital (BRAMH) on Jail Road on Tuesday afternoon, triggering panic among patients, attendants and hospital staff. Prompt action by hospital authorities and emergency services ensured that all patients were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. According to preliminary information, the fire erupted in the casualty section of the hospital during the afternoon. As news of the incident spread, panic gripped the hospital premises. Fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations to bring the situation under control.
 
A team from Moudhapara police station also reached the hospital after receiving information about the incident. Firefighters and hospital staff used blowers to clear smoke from the affected ward while ensuring the safety of patients and medical personnel. Although the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, initial suspicion is that it may have been triggered by an explosion in an air conditioner or a monitor. Authorities have begun an investigation to ascertain the cause of the incident. Hospital officials confirmed that all patients in the emergency ward were evacuated in time, preventing any casualties. Further assessment of the damage and the cause of the fire is underway.
