DISTRICT Food Safety Department conducted inspections at several dairy establishments across in the district and collected samples of dairy products for laboratory testing. Food Safety Officer Amit Gupta informed that acting on the directions of Collector Raghavendra Singh to curb the sale of adulterated and substandard food items, surprise inspections were conducted at Narayan Dairy Chilling Plant in Umaria Dungariya Industrial Area, where samples of milk, paneer, curd and khoya were collected.
 
The team also inspected Mother Dairy at Gupteshwar and collected samples of milk and paneer. In addition, paneer samples were taken from Pragya Dairy in Garha while paneer and curd samples were collected from Marwari Dairy. According to the Food Safety Officer, all the collected samples are being sent to the State Food Laboratory, Bhopal, for quality analysis. Appropriate legal action will be taken in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards Act if any sample is found to be substandard or adulterated after the laboratory reports are received.
