GORAKHPUR Police booked two accused involved in illegal trade and transportation of liquor and seized 71 bottles and 24 quarter bottles of liquor. SHO of Gorakhpur Police Station, Nitin Kamal informed that police received information on the night of July 27 that Monu Sablok and an associate had stored a large quantity of English liquor for illegal sale in a lane beside Asrani Doctor in Lodhi Mohalla, Gorakhpur Bazaar in Rampur.

 

When police raided the spot, the accused managed to escape under the cover of darkness, abandoning several bags and cartons. During the search, police recovered 71 full bottles of various liquor brands along with 24 quarters. Gorakhpur police seized the illegal liquor stock and registered a case against Monu Sablok and an unidentified accomplice under Section 34(2) of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act. Police have started a rigorous search to trace and arrest the absconding accused.
