ON THE occasion of World Sports Journalists Day, spikers of Vivekanand Nagar School were honoured by distributing sports equipment by Sports Journalists Association of Nagpur. Senior volleyball coach Sunil Hande and Sandhya Bhagat of Vivekananda Nagar School were present during the programme held at SJAN office in Vivekananda Nagar. Volleyball equipment were distributed to the players of Vivekananda Nagar Hindi Primary School who are regularly practicing at Samarth Vyayam Shala. In his address, Hande said that he is committed to building a great volleyball culture in the city by working hard on training these players.

 

Children of sports reporters and SJAN members, who scored excellent marks in the 10th and 12th exams, were also felicitated on the occasion. These include Gargi Kunte, Samruddhi Ramteke and Devang Singh. Tributes were paid to veteran and senior journalist of city TB Golhar on his demise. Golhar was former President of Nagpur Union of Working Journalist. SJAN President Naresh Shelke conducted the programme and proposed a vote of thanks.
