SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Ranbir Singh Gaur from Gallantry Swimming Club delivered an impressiveperformance winning fivemedals at the 42nd State Sub-Junior and 52nd Junior MaharashtraState Swimming Championship, organised by the Maharashtra State Aquatic Association at the NIT Swimming Pool, Ambazari, recently. Ranbir stole the spotlightwith agold medal in the 200m backstroke (2:21.00) and silver in the 100m backstroke (1:01.00). He also contributed silver medal in the4x100mmedleyrelay,4x100m freestyle relay and 4x100m mix relay.Fourteen-year-old Gita Dhake earned silver in the 4x100m freestyle relay,while 12- year-old Arshita Chidambar secured bronzemedals in both the 4x50mfreestylerelay and 4x50m medley relay.

 

All three talented swimmers havebeen selected to represent the State at the upcoming National Junior Swimming Championship to be held in Bhubaneswar in August. Theclub extended heartfelt congratulations to players, coachesNishantRajputandVilas Solanki,assistant coach Mansi Bodele and swimmer Puja Meshram for their dedicated efforts. The management and staff of NIT swimming pool, Ambazari Road, Prashant Ugemuge (Director,MidlandSports),Preeti Lanjekar (Deputy Director, Midland Sports) and Ashwin Janbandhu (Operations Manager,Midland Sports) also congratulated the medal winners.
