BARGI :
Police have arrested
two brothers within 24 hours
of murdering a 27-year-old
man over a dispute related to
interest on a motorcycle loan.
The accused have been identified as Krishna Kumar alias
Dinesh Netam (30) and Sanesh
alias Lalu Netam (25), both residents of Mankedi village in
Bargi Nagar.
According to Bargi police,
the incident occurred on the
night of July 26. The victim’s
mother, Hema Bai Uike, alleged
that her son Ashok Uike had
mortgaged his CD Deluxe
motorcycle to the accused’s
father about four months ago
for Rs 9,500. Although Ashok
later repaid the principal
amount and recovered the
motorcycle after receiving an
additional Rs 10,000 from the
accused about a week earlier,
a dispute remained over the
payment of interest.
On the night of the incident,
Ashok went to the accused’s
house to demand the outstanding interest amount.
Police said an argument
ensued, during which the two
brothers allegedly assaulted
him with wooden sticks while
threatening to kill him. When
his mother tried to intervene,
she was allegedly pushed aside.
The accused fled after local residents began gathering. Ashok
later succumbed to his injuries.
Based on the complaint,
Bargi police registered a case
under relevant provisions of
BNS for murder and related
offences.
Acting on the directions of
Superintendent of Police
Sampat Upadhyay, a special
team led by Bargi SHO Nilesh
Dohare tracked down the
accused following a tip-off.
Both brothers were arrested
near a poultry farm on
Sehajpuri Road and confessed
to the crime during questioning. The accused were produced before the court and
remanded to judicial custody
while further investigation is
