BHAVAN’S Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Koradi pipped St Joseph’s Convent 4-3 in their opening round match of the District-Level Subroto Mukherjee Inter-School Football Tournament in Under-15 Rural Boys category at the SFS College ground on Thursday. Shaurya Vishwakarma scored the opening goal for St Joseph in the eighth minute to build the pressure on Bhavan’s. The pressure was cut short by Jayesh Shende, who scored the equaliser for Bhavan’s in the ninth minute. Yatharth Ganar (10th) found the back of the net just a minute after his team-mate to make it 2-1 in favour of Bhavan’s. St Joseph’s Anmol made no mistake to pull one back in the 11th minute to make it 2-2. Shantanu Bhagat scored another goal for St Joseph in the 15th minute to pile the pressure back on Bhavan’s. After the half-time break, Hitesh scored the equaliser for Bhavan’s in the 22nd minute. Adwait Singh then scored the winner for Bhavan’s in the 24th minute. In the second match of the day, Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti went down in a high-scoring highly contested match to Era International, Besa 3-2. Anvay Jambulkar made the quick opening goal in the first minute of the match to provide Bhavan’s Ashti with an early lead. Era’s Tanishq Mishra pulled the goal back in the fifth minute. Harshad Moon (12th) doubled the lead for Era, but just five minutes later, Bhavan’s scored via Akshat Gupta (17th). Rishabh Pancheswar scored the winner for Era International.
