INDIAN Idol runner-up Tanishk Shukla received a heartwarming and grand welcome upon his arrival in Sanskardhani on Thursday. Various religious, social, cultural and business organizations gathered with immense enthusiasm and excitement to celebrate the local star. It may be mentioned that Jabalpur’s young singing sensation Tanishk concluded a memorable journey on Indian Idol Season 16, securing the first runner-up position in the grand finale. The season title was claimed by Odisha’s Jyotirmayee Nayak. Throughout the season, Tanishk distinguished himself through versatile renditions and soulful vocal quality.

 

His performance during the audition and theatre rounds earned high praise from judges Shreya Ghoshal, Badshah and Vishal Dadlani, as well as veteran playback legend Suresh Wadkar, who remarked that Tanishk possesses a voice natural to playback singing. Before his musical breakthrough, Tanishk was an internationally registered chess player with FIDE. A grand victory rally kicked off from Dumna Airport, traversing the city’s major routes before concluding at his residence in Adhartal. Across the city, welcoming stages were set up where Tanishk was honoured with tilak, shawls, turbans, garlands and bouquets. The entire rally route witnessed a festive atmosphere, filled with showerings of flowers and gulal, lively music and dance, firecrackers and energetic cheering from the crowd.

 

Many distinguished personalities, including Corporator, Kamlesh Agarwal and Vimal Rai, along with Shailendra Shukla, Rammurti Mishra, Manish Agrahari, Bablu Mathews, Shreya Khandelwal and several others, joined Tanishk’s family, relatives and thousands of fans to welcome and felicitate him.
