THREE students sustained minor injuries on Friday morning after a school bus carrying Class 12 students collided with an electric bus of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) at Panchsheel Square. Three students suffered minor injuries in the accident and were discharged after receiving first-aid. The accident took place at around 7.10 am when a bus belonging to St Ursula High School and Junior College (MH-49/BZ-6610) collided with the electric bus (MH-40/DC-0410). The school bus was carrying eight to ten students who were travelling to their tuition classes. Officials said the electric bus came from another direction and hit the school bus near its middle door. Soon after the collision, the injured students were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they received treatment for minor injuries. Their parents reached the hospital and the accident spot after being informed about the incident.

Senior Police Inspector Suhas Raut of Sitabuldi Police Station said the injured students were all studying in Class 12 and were on their way to their coaching classes. “As only minor injuries were reported and there was no loss of life or major property damage, no formal complaint was lodged by either side. We have registered the matter as a minor accident and are verifying the circumstances,” Raut said. According to officials of Nagpur Transport Solution Pvt. Ltd., the electric bus, driven by Kamlesh Bhoyar, was on its first trip from Khapri Depot to the Aapli Bus Terminal when the collision occurred. The bus was later taken to Sitabuldi Police Station as directed by transport authorities. Officials said a detailed investigation report will be prepared after all facts and supporting evidence are collected.
