Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav will perform the bhoomipujan and foundation stone laying ceremony of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Smart Industrial Park being developed at Satgarhi in Bhopal on Monday. In this programme, organised on the birth anniversary of nationalist thinker and India’s first Minister of Industry and Supply, Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, more than 200 prominent industrialists, investors, and representatives of industrial organisations from the country and the State will participate. To be developed in an area of about 173 acres, this park will become a new base for the expansion of industrial activities in Bhopal and surrounding areas.
A key feature of this projectwill be a world-class Convention and Exhibition Centre to be developed here in an area of about 25 acres, which will have a capacity of more than 10,000 people and where national and international level investor conclaves, industrial exhibitions, business events, and global commercial programmes can be organised. This will give a new identity to Bhopal as a major MICE meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions destination of Central India.
This project will be based on the ‘Work-Live-Grow’ model, under which industries related to high-value manufacturing, garment, toys, IT, AI, logistics, and emerging technologies will be established in the park. This project is estimated to create more than 15,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, making Kolar, which has been mainly a residential area till now, a new centre of investment and employment in the coming times.
Strategically, this park is connected with a better connectivity route from Raja Bhoj International Airport, Rani Kamalapati Railway Station, Kolar Road, and the proposed Western Bypass, which will play an important role in the establishment of industries. In this eco-friendly smart area, modern facilities like SCADA-based water management system, water and sewage treatment plant, automated air quality monitoring system, electric vehicle charging station, and state-of-the-art utility corridor will be developed. This park will pave a new way for industrial investment and modern manufacturing in the capital.
