CITY’Supcoming shuttler Aditya Yaul made it to the podium finishing third in theYonex-Sunrise All India Sub-Junior (U-15 &U-17) Ranking Badminton Tournament that concluded at Dravid Centrefor Sports Excellence,Yelahanka, in BengaluruonTuesday. Aditya secured thirdplaceinUnder-15boys singles event at the tournament that saw 2159 players from all parts of the countryfighting it out in ten events. Right from theRound of 64 to the quarter-finals, Aditya did not drop asingle game. In hisfirst match he beat Jummo Ete21-8, 21- 16, then in Round of 32, Aditya got the better of Moksshagna SaiKoneru21-8, 21-11. In pre-quarters,theNagpur lad defeatedLineshVaibhav S21- 18, 23-21 and in his last-eight match, Aditya beat Yashvardhan SReddy 23-21, 21-10.

 

In the semi-final, Aditya lost to Taabin Anuf Ahamed 12-21, 12-21. With top-four finish, Aditya has sealed aplace in the Indian team for the Badminton Asia U-17 &U-15JuniorChampionships to be heldinChina.
