RONEET Dasemerged champion in the 120th edition of Nagpur District Weekend Open Rapid Chess Tournament. that concluded at NDCA Hall, Sports Complex, Dhanwate National College,Congress Nagar. The event was ajoint venture of Nagpur District Chess Association and Dhanwate National College. In all 38 players including 23 ELOrated players participated in this tournament. Total seven rounds were played.

 

RoneetandAIMSwarajMishra accumulated six points each from theirsevenroundsbutwith better tie-break scores,the former was declared winner. AnshDhanvij,with 5½ points, finished third. As many as four players scored an identical five points and were placed from fourth to seventh based upon their tie-break scores. Total cash prizes of Rs 6,000 was distributed among top 10 players of the tournament. The prizes were distributed at the hands of Chief Arbiter IA Pravin Pantawane.
