The five members of the missing Paraswani family from Nagpur have been traced at their relatives’ house in Pimpri-Chinchwad, bringing relief to their family and ending a two-week search by Dhantoli police.
According to Dhantoli Police Inspector Sainath Ramod, the breakthrough came after investigators tracked an online bank transaction and the mobile phone location of one of the missing family members.
“Our team was continuously following the leads. The online transaction and mobile location helped us trace them. Finally, we located the family at their relatives’ home in Pimpri-Chinchwad,” PI Ramod said.
The missing family members were identified as Harsha Suresh Paraswani (57), Jitendra Suresh Paraswani (42), Ishita Jitendra Paraswani (40), Khushi Jitendra Paraswani (21), and Krishna Jitendra Paraswani (12), residents of Durga Sadan on Balraj Marg in Nagpur.
The family had left their home on June 24 without informing anyone, after which relatives lodged a missing persons complaint with Dhantoli police. During the investigation, police initially traced the last mobile phone location to Pune. However, the phone was switched off soon afterwards, making the search more difficult. The investigation gained momentum after police detected an ATM transaction from Pimpri-Chinchwad.
A special Dhantoli police team immediately rushed there and, with the help of technical evidence and local inquiries, located the family at their relatives’ residence.
During questioning, the family told police that they had been under severe financial pressure due to heavy loans. According to PI Ramod, they said they were being repeatedly pressured by lenders, which forced them to leave Nagpur and go into hiding. “They informed us that they had huge loans and were under constant pressure from lenders. That is why they decided to stay away. They will continue to stay with their relatives for now,” PI Ramod said.
After recording the statements of all five family members and completing necessary legal formalities, Dhantoli police team is expected to return to Nagpur. Police said no foul play has been found so far, and the family was traced safe and unharmed.
