Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Maharashtra, will be on a day-long visit to the city on Friday. According to the official programme, the Governor will arrive at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport at 11.40 am. He will then proceed to Lok Bhavan, where he will attend launch of mega tree plantation drive to plant 10 lakh trees in city and district, at 1.30 pm. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mayor Neeta Thakre, and other dignitaries also will be present at the programme. The Governor will remain at Lok Bhavan thereafter for scheduled engagements. Later in the evening, he will arrive at the Nagpur airport at 6.15 pm and depart for Mumbai, concluding his day-long visit to the city.
